Can You Identify These Goudey Boys ?Click on the picture on the right for a more detailed scan of the Photo.I suspect these are the four oldest sons of Henry Tedford Goudey, but do not know for sure. If anyone can identify them I would very much like to know who they are. I have other pictures of the younger children, but no pictures of the five oldest children(except possibly this one). The picture is labeled "Four Goudey Boys". |

Henry T. Goudey was a carpenter and ship builder in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia What induced him to move to Michigan in 1865 is not known, but it was a bad move and he lost all he had. In 1875 he went to San Francisco to look for better prospects. At that time there was an epidemic in San Francisco where hundreds died and they were all buried in common grave in a spot which is now in Lincoln Park in San Francisco. Henry Tedford Goudey was one of the victims of the epidemic. (Grave #1177 City & County Cemetary). |
