A 1902 Error Corrected"Yarmouth Nova Scotia Genealogies"by George S. Brown On Page 630 Transcribed from the Yarmouth Herald JULY 2, 1902 JAMES, m. 1769, May 10. Elizabeth Potter, dau. Joseph, of Marlboro, Mass. and afterwards of Annapolis Co., N.S. Mrs. Elizabeth (Potter) Goudey was b. 1738, June 22, and d. 1831, Jan. 29." This is in error for three reasons: 1. Her Age at death would make her birth Abt. 1748 2. Her Last child would have been born at age 51 3. There is a conflicting Marriage for Betty Potter: 1758 POTTER , Betty of Marlbro, and William Hayden, Mar. 16, 1758 Marriage Sudbury 1758 HAYDEN William and Betty Potter, Mar. 16, 1758. Marriage Sudbury NOTE: Also Elizabeth Potter who married James apparently never used the name Betty. |
