The Goudey Family Tree begins with "George Goudey I" who is the first documented ancestor of the Goudey Tree and was probably born in Ireland There is also evidence that his father was also named George Goudey and may have been a roving coastal fisherman who died at Newcastle New Hampshire in 1724 or 1725. There is some evidence that Goudey's may have been among the fishermen that made annual trecks in the 1600s from the British Isles to the Grand Banks and then returned home for the winter with their catch of dried fish. Some other Early Goudeys in New England are probably related to George Goudey I.
